Featured in Couture Colorado Wedding Blog!

Check out the bridal bouquet we made for a special wedding vow renewal featured on the Couture Colorado Wedding Blog. When asked to make this bridal bouquet and boutonniere for Lisa Rundall Photography, I was absolutely thrilled. Lisa loves a wild & free style as much as I do! Non-traditional bouquets are becoming more and more popular and gives me such a happy feeling because this is how flowers should be! Fully expressed and natural! I am grateful for this opportunity as I am with each piece I make. Feeling extra thrilled to see our work on the Couture Colorado Wedding Blog. Bear Creek Distillery Installation

Our great friends at Bear Creek Distillery are officially opening up their tasting room to the public! It’s been a long journey for them and we’re all excited.

They invited me to help enhance their space with some plant installations and I couldn’t have been more excited. Their space is already beautiful with a rustic theme utilizing reclaimed snow fence wood and other materials.

Here is one of the pieces I installed:

Be sure to visit them when you get a chance. They are currently offering Silver Rum and Rye Vodka with other spirits in the works. I advice you to try out this new local gem and purchase a bottle or tow for your home collection.

Summer 2014 Schedule

Well, things are picking up around here at Azalea which is great news!

Unfortunately, it does cause some conflicts with some of the farmers markets that I was participating in on a regular basis. But don’t worry!

This doesn’t mean that I won’t be able to participate at upcoming local framers markets anymore, it just means that I will have more limited appearances at them. I still plan on getting out to several of them throughout the summer and I will keep you updated on those as I define them. Follow me on Facebook/Twitter for latest updates.

You can still always order those same floral and plant products that I offered at the markets directly and set up pick-up or delivery. Just call or email me.

I will also continue to have product at The Denver Urban Homesteaders Farmers Market for sale, such as small plants and my bargain fresh-cut floral bouquets!

I apologize for any inconvenience and I’ll definitely miss the great interactions that I experienced every Saturday and hope to have more in the future.

Caring for succulents

Caring for succulents is fairly a low-maintenance task. Although they usually grow in dry arid climates like deserts, they do like their moisture.

What you need:

  • Fresh Water
  • Weekly/Seasonal monitoring
  • Balanced fertilizer during grow season

The growing season for most succulents and cacti is from spring to fall. During this time, they should be watered generously so their soil is wet and even draining out of the container. You can also provide a balanced fertilizer (equal parts of Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium) during their grow season as well to add a some extra nutrients for their consumption.

During the cooler seasons, you should extend the water period to about 1.5 to 2 weeks or when the soil is almost completely dry.
